Jeff Combs started out by selling items out of the back of his truck. He was then approached by Topcon Positioning Systems about being the local Topcon dealer in this area. Jeff accepted the company’s offer and established JC Equipment Sales and Leasing, Inc. He brought on a service technician he had previously worked with, Chris Wells, to manage and run the service center. Tina Stassi was then brought in to take care of the financial aspects of the company. Shortly after, Adrian Ture was hired as a service tech. A few years later, Wes Prickett was hired to be the Product Manager.

JC Equipment flourished over the next 23 years, going from a small business to a staple in the construction industry around Cincinnati. That’s when Jeff decided that it was time to think bigger. He worked out a buyout with Columbus Equipment Company to make the company even better. We have since hired another service tech, Eric Roberts, field service tech, Brian Kraft, and a sales specialist, TJ Hendershot. Jeff celebreated his retirement in 2024, leaving a legacy of excellence and an experienced Smart Positioning team, insuring our customers will get the same great care and serivce they are used to.
